What is Eid Al-Fitr?

Eid Al-Fitr is an Islamic holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the month when Muslims fast from dawn until sunset. During Ramadan, Muslims fasts, pray more, and give charity. Eid Al-Fitr celebrates completing that month of fasting. On the morning of Eid, Muslims go to the mosque for a special Eid prayer with the community. After a month of fasting during the day, families celebrate by eating special meals and sweets, visiting family and friends, and giving gifts.
